Campsites in Cordoba

Well the summer heat hit early this year and my thoughts turned to outdoors, escapes and camping weekends. So these are the sites that I have checked out within the last month or two.

Camping Los Villares - a largish sized site with 170 pitches 7 km north of Cordoba city. This site in the natural park is closed for renovations. It may open in 2013 or 2014, it´s a real shame as it´s a great situation for rural-life lovers.

Camping Los Villares

Camping Municipal El Brillante - in the city itself this site is big and very hot in the summer months and could be an alternative to a hostel. It´s to the north of the city nearer the train station than the monumental area.

Camping Carlos III - near the Cordoba to Seville road this is a large, busy site that has a crammed in feel. With barely any shade or green areas it felt more like a full car park than a relaxed picnic spot.

Camping Albolafia - to the west of Cordoba, very near a great Water Park. Just off the main road it´s good base for exploring and very flat, welcoming and shady.

Camping Albolafia

Camping Puente Nuevo - heading north towards Casttlla-La Mancha this slightly sloping site is near a reservoir for canoeing and sailing. With some lovely small rental houses and Bengalese tents this is a destination rather than exploration base.

Camping Puente Nuevo

Camping La Campiña - a small rural site to the south of the province well located to visit the great cities of Cordoba, Granada and Seville.

Full reviews coming soon.

There´s nothing in the world quite like getting back to nature. Lying on the grass, watching the stars and listening to the sounds of nature.
