It's just outside Spain's highest town so it has to be Spain's highest campsite, Camping Trevelez. Amost the top of the world although the peak of Mulhacen, at 3.482 m the highest peak on mainland Spain, looms over the town.
This is the Natural Park of Sierra Nevada in the Cordillera Penibetica mountain range, for clean air and fabulous views this campsite has to be the tops, but ease of access on the site is not so fabulous, several narrow terraces make up the site which is at the end of a long winding road through pretty whitewashed villages of Las Alpujarras.
A great spot if you're not planning on too much exploring but if you're wanting to get out and about one of the villages nearer the main Granada city to the coast road would be better. It's a site and location better suited for tents and camper vans than motor homes.
There was still snow on the peaks the last weekend in May, click to enlarge.
